- From the Yelm Food Co-op’s Anne Marsh:
The words of that song came to me [Anne Marsh] the other day as I was reflecting on this journey here at the Co-op. Every ending really is the beginning of something new and every new beginning happens because some other journey has come to an end. Dear Friends, my journey here has come to an end.
It was 8 years ago in August that the phone call came from Lisa Fitkin. “”The Co-op wants someone to do wine tastings or something. You’re really good at that, you should check it out”. That was the start of it all.
Yes, it was my heart, soul and passion that created Wine Cellar of Yelm. But it was your enthusiasm …. and loyalty ….. and love that sustained my dream and carried it through many transitions including winning TWO BEST OF WESTERN WASHINGTON awards and a Best of Nisqually Valley! I leave my creation to the Co-op now, and I know it will be your continued passion for all that I taught you about wine, which will carry it through its next transition.
YES there will still be a wine selection … the store remains open. But I won’t be there. The Co-op will inform you of what is to come.
For now I would simply like to thank you..It has been my absolute joy to create this beautiful little space and fill it with treasures and share my heart with you. Every bottle in there is my heart and soul. YOU have been my absolute joy.
Thank you for eight awesome years together.
Tuesday September First will be my final day at the Co-op
Please stop in between now and then and say goodbye. You may want to take advantage of one last opportunity to consult with me. Call the store or E-mail me and let me know what you’d like: I’ll pick out a few bottles for you or build you your very own custom case that I know you’ll love. 💕
