Affected Area

Thurston County

Description

…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING… Through Sunday evening A front will bring rain, heavy at times, this afternoon through early Sunday morning. 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected in the mountains with locally higher amounts possible. Snow levels will rise to above 6000 feet tonight as well. Another shot of heavy rain is expected to move into the area Sunday night. Recent models have been forecasting a little less rainfall and river forecasts have been trending lower, but it still looks like a wet pattern and river flooding is still possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Read more
