  • Editor’s note: Much concern was raised in the last two days about Trump’s state of mind.
  • The Atlantic published this report: Trump Is Losing His Mind.
  • Trump’s plan for a “wild” protest January 6th has the country on-edge.
  • Trump knows he has no chance to overturn the election legally, so will he incite violence?
  • All of Trump’s legal battles garnered him a huge asset – a PAC that is the recipient of millions of dollars from supporters who think they donated to defend his Presidency, yet mostly will just line his pockets.
  • 30 more days to the end of 45’s reign!
  • Trump’s chaos from last weekend opens Christmas Week coverage:

The Atlantic: Trump Is Losing His Mind

“Given Trump’s psychological profile, it was inevitable that when he felt the walls of reality close in on him—in 2020, it was the pandemic, the cratering economy, and his election defeat—he would detach himself even further from reality. It was predictable that the president would assert even more bizarre conspiracy theories. That he would become more enraged and embittered, more desperate and despondent, more consumed by his grievances. That he would go against past supplicants, like Attorney General Bill Barr and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, and become more aggressive toward his perceived enemies. That his wits would begin to turn, in the words of King Lear. That he would begin to lose his mind.

“So he has. And, as a result, President Trump has become even more destabilizing and dangerous.”

  • Editor’s note: We witnessed very serious news over the weekend that a conversation of overturning the election via martial law occurred in The White House:
  • CNN: Heated Oval Office meeting included talk of …, martial law as Trump advisers clash
  • Keith Obermann said, “TRUMP’S COUP MEETING WAS TREASON
  • Marc Elias: A Threat to Democracy is a must-read perspective now.
  • That the President of the United States is using the Oval Office to plot a disenfranchisement of citizens’ votes via martial law is a travesty, if not an impeachable crime!
  • With nary a word on the cyber equivalent of a Pearl Harbor attack on America, and the virus taking almost 375,000 people by the time Trump leaves office, this man does not deserve to be considered a leader.
  • Let us remember what Abraham Lincoln wrote just prior to the Civil War (above).

As heavy rains now enter our area,
Thurston County is placed under a Flood Watch!
Credit: National Weather Service, Seattle.

Issued By

Seattle/Tacoma – WA, US, National Weather Service

Affected Area

Thurston County

…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING… Through Sunday evening A front will bring rain, heavy at times, this afternoon through early Sunday morning. 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected in the mountains with locally higher amounts possible. Snow levels will rise to above 6000 feet tonight as well. Another shot of heavy rain is expected to move into the area Sunday night. Recent models have been forecasting a little less rainfall and river forecasts have been trending lower, but it still looks like a wet pattern and river flooding is still possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Read more

Teri Kanefield Op-Ed: Trump’s White House lawyers are trying to stop a last-minute impeachment repeat – Firing FBI Director Christopher Wray would be one more example of how Trump tramples democratic norms, even on his way out the door.

“In an autocracy, the autocrat decides who should be investigated and prosecuted. The problem with allowing the head of state to decide whom to prosecute is obvious: It opens up the temptation to prosecute political rivals. Rule of law gives way to the whims of the ruler. Trump’s attempts to force the Justice Department and the FBI to do his bidding are some of his most blatant and dangerous assaults on the rule of law.”
