*** AN IMPEACHMENT PERSPECTIVE ***
Truthout: “Even If He’s Acquitted, History Isn’t on Trump’s Side“
“The House Impeachment Managers were seeking to shape history’s understanding of Trump, to ensure that, generations from now, his name remains synonymous with insurrection, with demagoguery, with violence and with bloodlust. They succeeded.”
“The history of Trump and of Trumpism is largely being written by others. And it’s a narrative that, as the impeachment trial has so vividly shown, will not be kind to him.”
- Ed. note: Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis says she is that the only person left who isn’t implicated, targeted, or otherwise a witness in Atlanta not contacted by Trump to overturn election votes.
- Willis will be looking to empanel a Grand Jury next month.
- If Trump is acquitted in the impeachment trial, he can still be prohibited from running for elective office if he is indicted, tried, and convicted for breaking Georgia law on election interference.
