+ NVN: On May 8, 1996, Yelm City Council appointed its newest councilmember Adam Rivas. “It will be neat to do. I’m looking forward to it,” Rivas said. [Ed. note:Adam Rivas served as mayor for one term 2001-2005.]

+ NVN: Walmart purchased a 200,000-square-foot parcel, which used to be the El Patio property, and paid Yelm City Council $636,000 in April 2006 for permit fees.
