Steve — your Covid Vaccine information is very misleading. The first problem is you have to log in to an account to view your data. Second, your chart includes data from 1980 when VAERS began, so of course it would show an EXTREMELY large jump in 2021 when Covid vaccinations became available. It is hard to understand the informational value, or the point of presenting your black and red colored chart. Third, I checked the VAERS database (which is data compiled by the CDC) and the results show only 8,395 total deaths for 2020-2021 as of Nov. 12. https://wonder.cdc.gov/controller/saved/D8/D251F499
And finally, your “headline” implies the deaths are a result of being vaccinated, which is completely erroneous. Furthermore, even if there were 18,461 vaccinated deaths — out of 767,419 total deaths, it is much lower than the reported effectiveness of any of the vaccines, by a large margin — even calculating the increasing effectiveness and availability of treatments over time.
There has never been a claim that the Vaccines would stop infections, the claims have always been about reduction of serious illness requiring hospitalization, and deaths. There was also no claim for the amount of time the vaccine would be effective, because it couldn’t be studied except in real-time application — which is the nature of “emergency approval”. The most recent uptick in the percentage of “Breakthrough” infections is logically due to waning effectiveness of the vaccines, not to mention that all the vaccines were developed before there was a “Delta” variant.
I implied nothing in the headline, rather flat-out listed the direct quote from VAERS. Reminder, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S., and the filing of these reports is voluntary.

Every Friday, VAERS publishes vaccine injury reports received as of a specified date. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed. Historically, VAERS has been shown to report only 1% of actual vaccine adverse events.

I agree with you that, “There has never been a claim that the Vaccines would stop infections, the claims have always been about reduction of serious illness requiring hospitalization, and deaths.” Then with the country at 70+% vaccinated, we can no longer solely blame the unvaxxed for the rise in cases, hospitalizations and deaths. Even FOX News reported this yesterday, “Fauci said ‘COVID-19 hospitalizations rising among vaccinated.'”
“VAERS data released today by the CDC included a total of 894,145 reports of adverse events from all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 18,853 deaths and 139,126 serious injuries between Dec. 14, 2020, and Nov. 12, 2021,” quoting The Defender.
Your headline is not a quote from VAERS, it is from “OpenVAERS” which is a separate entity with its own interface to the CDC data. “OpenVAERS is a project developed by a small team of people with vaccine injuries or who have children with vaccine injuries.” And per the Defender article, they ARE implying the deaths are linked to the vaccines themselves. That is not supported, even by their own data.
If you read the details listed on the MedAlerts data (linked in “The Defender” article), the results include death by all causes, including heart attack, all manner of disease and organ failure, as well as Covid itself (many diagnosed prior to vax). I am not able to look at all 1,886 pages of data, but in a sampling of a few dozen pages, the data is almost exclusively elderly (60+ years), and have serious illnesses already.
This is a clear case of misinterpreting data to prove an opinion. Most people do not do detailed research and just rely on the opinion of someone, usually with whom they already agree with and therefore “trust”. The graphic and headline you present is meant to convey that something unreported and extremely alarming happening, when there isn’t. The result is to entrench people further into their fear, which unfortunately does have a high mortality rate attached to it.
No matter how you wish to slice this “vaccine,” this one is different than with all previous vaccines, for if there were 150 adverse reactions reported, the vaccine would be halted until this could be addressed. There are thousands of reported adverse reactions and deaths with mRNA vaccines. Dr. Peter McCullough is the most published physician in the United States and he said this, excerpted here:
“From an epidemiology perspective for causality, we apply what’s called “The Bradford Hill” criteria. And they go as follows…
“The first question we’d ask is “does the vaccine have a mechanism of action, a biological mechanism of action, that can actually kill a human being?”
And the answer is yes!
“Because the vaccines all use genetic mechanisms to trick the body into making the lethal spike protein of the virus. It is very conceivable that some people take up too much messenger RNA.
They produce a lethal spike protein in insensitive organs like the brain or the heart or elsewhere. The spike protein damages blood vessels, damages organs, causes blood clots. So it’s well within the mechanism of action that the vaccine could be fatal. Someone could have a fatal blood clot.
They could have fatal myocarditis. The FDA has official warnings of myocarditis. They have warnings on blood clots. They have warnings on a fatal neurologic condition in some cases …. So the FDA warnings, the mechanism of action, clearly say it’s possible. That’s one of the first criteria.
“The second criteria is, “is it a large effect?” And the answer is yes!
This is not a subtle thing. It’s not 151 vs 149 deaths. This is 15,000 deaths. So it’s a very large what’s considered “effect size” or a large effect.
“The third one is “is it internally consistent?” Are you seeing other things that could potentially be fatal in VAERS? Yes! We’re seeing heart attacks.
We’re seeing strokes. We’re seeing myocarditis. We’re seeing blood clots, and what have you. So, it’s internally consistent.
“Is it externally consistent? That’s the next criteria. Well, if you look in the MHRA, the yellow card system in England, the exact same thing has been found! In the Uterus system in the UK the exact same thing’s been found.
“So we have actually fulfilled all of the Bradford Hill criteria! I’ll tell you right now that COVID-19 vaccine is from an epidemiological perspective are causing these deaths in a large fraction!”

Yes, the mRNA vaccines are different, and they have been shown to be MORE effective than traditional vaccines, and just as safe, if not safer.
The claim of “150 adverse reactions” criteria is erroneous. The criteria of vaccine efficacy is percentage based. Also “the most published physician” is conjecture and doesn’t mean anything. Dr. McCullough has been debunked by his peers several times — Baylor successfully sued McCullough to stop him from associating himself with them.
There are 9 points involved with the Bradford Hill Criteria, not three, and I have presented the fallacy of the three Dr. McCullough gave, as well as the false presumptions about the “15,000 deaths” data.
There is no data to suggest that overproduction of the “Spike protein” via “too much messenger RNA” is a causation factor for blood clots, myocarditis, or other issues. The simple fact that blood clots happen mostly with Johnson & Johnson’s non-mRNA vaccine, proves the fallacy of that.
In the meantime, the staggering majority of unvaccinated people being hospitalized and dying from Covid is proof enough of efficacy for me.
