VOTING UPDATE FOR NOV. 3
+ The Olympian: Registered voters having their ballots accepted by Tuesday: 19.8% of Yelm’s 5,107 registered voters, from the official Yelm 2020 census population of 10,617.
+ Key take-aways:
- 19.8% of 5,107 registered voters in Yelm = 1,011 votes to-date in a city of 10,000+
2. Voters saw through DePinto’s opponent’s lack of experience, and as a retiring councilor’s wife.
3. 850 voters cast a ballot for Yelm Mayor to-date in a city of 10,000+
4. Voters clearly saw the conflict of interest and had an issue with the Chamber’s Executive Director running for council seat position 5.
UPDATED BALLOT RESULTS WEDNESDAY, NOV. 3rd, 5:00 PM
Most of the results remain similar to Tuesdays:
Yelm Mayor: DePinto leads 68% with 580 total votes to 31% for Butler with 261 votes.
Yelm Council Position 3: Crossman leads 57% with 466 total votes to 42% for McAtee with 339 votes.
Yelm Council Position 4: Smith leads 68% with 555 total votes to 31% for Burney with 258 votes.
Yelm Council Position 5: Hess leads 54% with 455 total votes to 45% for Roy with 367 votes.
Yelm Council Position 6: Kaminski leads 61% with 505 total votes to 48% for Chai with 318 votes.
Port of Olympia District 2: Iyall leads 51% with 23,915 total votes to 49% for Simmons with 22,446 votes.
Port of Olympia District 3: Evans leads 56% with 26,500 total votes to 43% for Hansen with 20,355 votes.
Yelm’s Advisory Fireworks Ban is currently failing at 51% voting no, 433-411 votes..
