VOTING UPDATE FOR NOV. 3
+ Key take-aways:
+ Voters saw through DePinto’s opponent’s lack of experience, and as a retiring councilor’s wife.
+ 1,251 Yelm voters cast a vote for Mayor, highest for any Yelm government seat.
+ 1,251 votes is 25% of Yelm’s 5,107 registered voters, in a city of over 10,000, from the official Yelm 2020 census population of 10,617.
+ Voters clearly saw the conflict of interest and had an issue with the Chamber’s Executive Director running for council seat position 5. Brian Hess is handily defeating Line Roy.

Most of the results remain similar to Wednesdays:
Yelm Mayor: DePinto leads 71% with 888 total votes to 28% for Butler with 352 votes.
Yelm Council Position 3: Crossman leads 58% with 695 total votes to 41% for McAtee with 491 votes.
Yelm Council Position 4: Smith leads 68% with 816 total votes to 31% for Burney with 378 votes.
Yelm Council Position 5: Hess leads 54% with 642 total votes to 45% for Roy with 536 votes.
Yelm Council Position 6: Kaminski leads 59% with 724 total votes to 40% for Chai with 494 votes.
Port of Olympia District 2: Iyall leads 52% with 32.449 total votes to 48% for Simmons with 29,929 votes.
Port of Olympia District 3: Evans leads 56% with 35,248 total votes to 44% for Hansen with 27,821 votes.
Yelm’s Advisory Fireworks Ban is currently failing at 56% voting no, 691-553 votes.
