Flag Retirement Ceremony by American Legion Post 164 Yelm

TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 2022 AT 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM PDT

16733 103rd Ave. So., Yelm, WA. 98597

[One does not need to be present at the ceremony. Flags can be dropped off at the post.]

“Join the American Legion Family, The VFW and local BSA Troops and Packs as we retire our Nations worn out flags for Flag Day.
“Ceremony will begin at 6 pm at the fire pit by the Memorial and Flag poles.

“It is also the U.S. Army’s Birthday, turning 247 years old. Stay after the ceremony to listen to some speakers, watch some videos and have some finger foods and dessert!

“A national flag that is worn beyond repair may be burned in a fire. The ceremony should be conducted with dignity and respect and the flag burned completely to ashes.”
