What are your thoughts about the Bountiful Byway tourism plan?

From The JOLT News:

Experience Olympia and Beyond will hold six public workshop sessions beginning Monday, August 8, seeking community members’ thoughts on the Thurston Bountiful Byway Corridor Management Plan.

During the sessions, Experience Olympia staff, in partnership with consultant Otak, Inc., will discuss “key byway destinations, experiences and desired improvements” on the project, which will include:

  • Key tourism assets throughout the county and characteristics of these assets.
  • Description of existing experiences, places, facilities and services for visitors.
  • Strategies, ideas and opportunities to improve infrastructure and promote tourism and visitation throughout the byway.
  • Wayfinding and signing concepts to reinforce the Thurston Bountiful Byway brand and identity.
  • Recommendations for funding and implementation of the plan.

From Experience Olympia & Beyond:

Experience Olympia & Beyond is working to develop a Corridor Management Plan for the Thurston Bountiful Byway and is now moving to the next phase of public input in the form of in-person workshops at different locations throughout Thurston County.

The workshops will offer an opportunity to learn about the plan and to provide input about key byway destinations, experiences, and desired improvements. An online mapping tool will also be introduced to allow the public to submit input virtually.

The following six meetings will be held the week of August 8, 2022 – each with identical presentations and public feedback sessions. Members of the public can attend whichever meeting works best for their schedule, as the content will be the same.
