Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Terminal Debuts First Beer and Wine Garden in a U.S. Airport
From South Sound Business:
The last few parts of the $21.8 million project to update Central Terminal at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are finally coming into place. One of project’s final phases included opening two sought-after spots on the North end of the terminal, Salty’s at the SEA and BrewTop Social.
Salty’s might ring a bell for some South Sound readers since the original location has operated on Alki Beach in Seattle since the 1930s. The beloved Pacific Northwest brand is known for its local fare, seasonal seafood, and regional wines.
The new Salty’s at the SEA was designed to be an oasis for travelers, a release said. Every seat has a “waterfront view” thanks to video wall art from local outdoor photographer Scott Kranz.
“This is a new, creative step for SEA as we literally raise the bar for the customer experience,” SEA Airport Dining and Retail senior manager Khalia Moore said in the release. “Creating a second level in the Central Terminal brings a new viewpoint to the airfield and the Olympics Mountains, but these tenants reflect the Pacific Northwest with their food, design and service.”
To complement the downstairs eatery, Port of Seattle welcomed BrewTop Social, the first beer and wine garden in a U.S. airport. The brewery adds to its neighbor’s outdoor theme with an open-air dining experience and Northwest forest decor.
