
- Editor’s note: I have been a visitor in Judge Dixon’s court for several cases over the years, and an alternate juror in a July 2018 armed robbery case. I found Judge Dixon’s court to be managed in an outstanding manner and wrote him such after my jury duty.
- I wish Judge Dixon well in his retirement. He served our county exceptionally well.
Gov. Inslee appoints replacement for Thurston County Superior Court Judge James Dixon

Judge James Dixon will retire on Dec. 30 after spending over a decade on the bench. He will be replaced by Anne Egeler, according to a Thursday [Dec. 1] news release from the Governor’s Office.
Egeler, who lives in Olympia, has worked at the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office since 2020. In her current role, Egeler handles criminal appeals in state and federal court. From 2005 to 2020, Egeler served as a deputy solicitor general with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
In a statement, Inslee said Egeler is well equipped for her next step as a Superior Court judge.
