Port of Olympia to take it on the road
Commissioners plan meetings in Tumwater, Tenino and Yelm

The Port of Olympia commissioners said they plan to hold on-site meetings at the cities of Tumwater, Tenino, and Yelm.
Commissioners Amy Evans Harding said at an agenda-setting meeting on Monday, January 6, that she has spoken with Tumwater City Mayor Debbie Sullivan and City Administrator John Doan about touring the Olympia Regional Council together with the Tumwater City Council.
The tour in Tumwater would be prioritized as the Port conducts much of its work in the city, Evans Harding explained.
As for meetings in Tenino and Yelm, Evans Harding said she prefers these to be informal, an idea with which the other commissioners agreed.
“I’ve had a number of other elected officials suggest that more informal situations are better for trust building than formal meetings,” she explained.
