City of Yelm 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update – Request for Proposals
Excerpt from the City of Yelm Comprehensive Plan Update
The City of Yelm is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) from qualified firms interested in providing
professional long-range planning services for the 2025 periodic update of the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
With a growth rate of 227.0 percent since the year 2000 – from a population of 3,265 to the current
population of 10,707 – the City of Yelm grew faster than 95% of similarly sized cities during that
timeframe. Yelm is experiencing the challenges associated with growth as well, ranging from
maintaining adequate housing stock, accommodating commercial development, protecting critical
habitats, and maintaining and improving the transportation infrastructure. Once completed, the
Comprehensive Plan will be the City’s policy roadmap for sustainable growth.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The City of Yelm is looking for an experienced consultant team to lead and guide the City through the
update process.
