My Family and I had been hearing from so many people about Don Juan’s Mexican Restaurant in Tenino, that we all packed in the car and drove there Sunday evening from Yelm, only to find our neighbors from across the street in the middle of their dinner. We were quite surprised & got some good tips on ordering. We also spotted a world-recognized actress who resides in the area dining there, as well.

We were seated and welcomed like royalty by Don Juan’s entire family, all involved in some aspect of the business. We were immediately treated to their special house-made fresh, warmed chips and salsa and one of the best guacamole I have ever so enjoyed.

Everyone got something different and we all shared. I had two mulitas that were outstanding. The flan for dessert was terrific.

While Yelm has wonderful Mexican fare, I recommend a drive to Tenino for Don Juan’s attentive service, excellent chips & salsa, entrees that are each special and delicious and desserts that will top off a grand meal!
