NVN joins American Cancer Society Relay for Life –
set for Aug. 2-3 at Rainier High School.

From Nisqually Valley News (NVN) Publisher/Editor Michael Wagar:
“I am excited to announce the Nisqually Valley News will be part of that cure [cancer], be it in the near future or decades to come.

We are an official sponsor for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Rainier set for Aug. 2-3 at Rainier High School. We hope to have up to 40 people on our team all aimed at raising money to find the cure.

Ive participated before in other communities. I look forward to the midnight walk around the track to glowing luminaries. My thoughts will be with my mom [ Sharon June Wagar, died Dec. 23, 1997, after spending the last month of her life in the hospital, after a years-long struggle against an aggressive form of cancer.]

I encourage other businesses, community leaders and citizens to join the NVN this year. For those interested, contact team retention and recruitment leader Mia Chambers at 360-264-4609. Lets swiftly race for the cure together.”
