– “Evans Declines City’s Offer for City Admin Post”
By Nisqually Valley News, Friday, September 16, 2016 3:41 pm
“City administrator candidate Melissa Evans declined the city’s offer on Friday, Yem (sic) Mayor JW Foster said. The city council unanimously confirmed her to the post at Tuesday’s meeting.
Foster will discuss the city’s next steps at the council strategic planning meeting tomorrow [Saturday].”
– Editor’s note:
Melissa Evans was a very strong candidate for Yelm as City Administrator, with her business development experience, focus on developing a revenue stream, city hall public relations, and more. I hope Mayor Foster and the city council negotiate a salary/benefits package for Ms. Evans to have her come here, if that is the issue. One concern is that Interim City Administrator Bill Brandon is leaving his post September 30 and with all of the changes in city government, we need a full-time city administrator yesterday.
