Yelm City Council member Bob Isom (Pos. 3) resigned from his position effective September 18 to devote his energies to responsibilities for the Loyal Order of Moose, Region 6, Washington/Northern Idaho. Isom said he is resigning 16 years to the month after he was appointed to his council position by then-Mayor Kathy Wolf.
I salute Mr. Isom’s dedication to public service.
While we have disagreed on many things, I respect his steadfastness in the energy and contributions he brought to the Council in the administrations of Mayor Wolf, Mayor Adam Rivas and Mayor Ron Harding.

– UPDATE: September 15, 2016:
Isom left these parting words in the Nisqually Valley News, evidently expecting some blow-back:
“To his critics: “Don’t judge me by your ignorance.'”
though this is how he should be remembered, to which I agree,
“His advice to the current and future councils: ‘Remember that you represent the citizens of Yelm.‘”

Mr. Isom’s Council Position 3 will be open for City of Yelm residents to apply as interim councilor for one year, until the seat is up for election in November 2017.

The Yelm Community Blog wishes Mr. Isom well in his future endeavors.
