– From REI, based here in the Pacific Northwest:
“This Friday we’re closing our stores and paying our 12,139 employees to #OptOutside. Nearly a million of you have already raised your hands to join us, and more are signing on every day. The excitement is humbling and inspiring.
We want to recognize and thank Washington’s National Park Fund and Mt. Rainier and Olympic National Parks for helping encourage even more people to get outside by offering free admission on 11/27.
Find more details here and we hope to see you out on the trails.”

This is important for the Yelm area, as Yelm IS Thurston County’s Gateway to Mt. Rainier!
The Yelm Community Blog salutes REI for their bold move in not only supporting their employees, yet with the public being out enjoying Mother Nature over shopping!
This Thanksgiving holiday, one company has priorities in the forefront!
